To fortify and broaden the platform for high-quality cooperation with South Korea, Shenyang, in collaboration with esteemed China-South Korea cooperation initiatives, ventured into South Korea to host the "2024 Korea-Shenyang Activity Week" in Seoul. The event aimed to jointly explore fresh ideas, initiatives, and opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. From April 23 to 27, the "2024 Korea-Shenyang Activity Week", themed "Sharing Opportunities, Seeking Common Development, and Creating the Future", triumphantly concluded in Seoul, South Korea!

The organizers of this event included the Shenyang Municipal People's Government, Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, Korea Trade Association, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), among others. The event was executed by the Shenyang Bureau of Commerce, Korea China Chamber of Commerce, Korea Robot Industry Association, and Shenyang Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television Bureau.

In his address, Hao Peng emphasized that over the past three decades, Liaoning and South Korea have engaged in extensive and profound collaboration across multiple sectors, including economy, trade, culture, education, and talent development. Consequently, South Korea has emerged as one of Liaoning's most vital trade partners and sources of foreign investment. Looking ahead, Liaoning is eager to collaborate more closely with various sectors in South Korea, focusing on advanced equipment manufacturing, digital economy, technological innovation, green development, and service trade. Together, we aim to achieve mutual progress and pen a fresh chapter in our cooperative endeavors.

Ban Ki-moon remarked that Shenyang boasts a robust industrial foundation, abundant resources, an open economic policy, and a conducive business environment. He expressed his hope that this event would further elevate the level of friendly cooperation between South Korea and China.

In his speech, Xing Haiming noted that Liaoning and South Korea, separated only by a sea, share a profound foundation of friendly cooperation and immense potential for expanding openness and deepening exchanges across various domains. As the capital city of Liaoning Province, Shenyang has consistently played a pivotal role in fostering cooperation with South Korea. He expressed his aspiration for more Korean enterprises to discover, engage with, and invest in Shenyang, jointly exploring new avenues, measures, and opportunities for Sino-Korean economic and trade cooperation. Other notable attendees at the activity week included Pei Junying, a member of the National Assembly of South Korea, Cui Xi, Consul General of South Korea in Shenyang, and Duan Jiyang, Vice Mayor of Shenyang. Moreover, "2024 Korea-Shenyang Activity Week" had the honor of inviting representatives from leading enterprises across industries, notably Samsung, LG, SK, POSCO, CJ, Doosan, and other Fortune 500 companies. It has also facilitated profound interactions among enterprises from both countries.
